Taping for TFCC Wrist Pain

If you no longer need to wear a wrist splint but feel you still want some subtle support to help reduce pain and avoid aggravating wrist positions then taping is...

Pain on the little finger side of your wrist is commonly caused by injury to your TFCC.

What is the TFCC? The Triangular Fibrocartilage Complex is both a stabiliser and cushion, made up of ligaments and cartilage on the ulnar side of your wrist.

How is it injured? It can be injured traumatically from falling onto an out stretched hand* or from repeated stress related to excessive wrist strain, common in golf and tennis.

*A FOOSH is a medical acronym for Fall On Out Stretched Hand.

What can you do? Get a professional assessment which should include an Xray if you have wrist pain following a FOOSH. You will then likely be told to rest and immobilise the wrist for a few weeks.

Can I Tape it? Yes you can, if you no longer need to wear a wrist splint but feel you still want some subtle support to help reduce pain and avoid aggravating wrist positions then taping is a great option.

Here is a quick 1 minute video showing you to apply RockTape for TFCC pain.

Please share the video with anybody you know who is suffering from wrist pain.
